Today is the SECOND birthday of my HOME AGAIN Jiggety-jig Facebook page, and a very happy day indeed. Mainly it is a day of thanks!
More than five years ago, the LORD began to speak to my heart about writing a blog in order to be a blessing to others. After more than 40 years as a home-economist, wife, Mom and ministry wife, there was a lot to share.
This became the desire of my heart, and for more than a year I began to work on the preparations to begin one. Since researching is what I do best, I did a lot of research about hosts, and costs, and websites, and themes, and publishing. My friend Nicole at 365ishpins, unknowingly gave me a lot of encouragement, as I watched her launch her Facebook, and followed her and her website. Seeing her push herself and succeed in an honorable and remarkable way, has been most inspiring.
In the early fall of 2013, I talked it over with my honey who agreed that if it was what I believed the LORD wanted, then I should go ahead.
I began writing and writing. Much of it has yet to appear on this blog, but it was made clearer and clearer that this is what I was supposed to do. Finally I decided that the only way for most people to know that I was even writing a blog was to start a Facebook page. I learned all about creating a business Facebook page.
AND FINALLY:
On 11/12/13 (what a fun day to start!) my Facebook page was up and running and linking up to the lonely blog.
This blogging adventure has been a lot of fun. So many have helped this lady, who is at least 25 years older than most of her fellow bloggers, with the help of Google and friends from “Let’s Get Real,” I’ve learned about pinning and google plussing and tweeting and stumbling upon and plug ins and SEOs and other stuff that I really had no idea about before. Most of all I’ve learned that I have a lot of AWESOME FRIENDS who are willing to LIKE my page, and read the stuff I find and share on Facebook AND comment on the words written and shared on this blog. I really still am at the start, and have lots and lots yet to learn.
Two years have brought much change to my family, including the birth of two grandsons!
These pictures are from the very first moments that I got to hold these sweet baby boys! (Sons of my sons!) Who live much too far away!
What do I see in the future?
Only THE God of the future knows for sure. Being a bit of a planner, often I have to remind myself of these Bible verses:
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 59:8-9
and these verses that also remind me:
“Go to now, ye that say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.”
James 4:13-15
So, with these verses in mind, if HE has better plans, I’ll be choosing to go with those, and again, on this second anniversary, I’m asking the LORD to allow me to continue posting on HOME AGAIN JIGGETY JIG as long as it can be a blessing and God be glorified. I have a lot of posts waiting in the queue waiting for the finishing touches.
THANK YOU, FRIENDS!
This is such a fun post. It is amazing to look back and see how far we have all come as bloggers. We are all better off because we learn and share from each other. I can’t wait to see what comes next for you and as always………I look forward to reading your beautiful words.
Thank you Christina. You are so kind. I’ve very much enjoyed the fellowship of bloggers in the Let’s Get Real group and have learned so much.
