As I write this, it is one week ’til Christmas. Our house is a bit cluttered and we still have packages to send out, that likely will arrive after Christmas, but the intended recipients don’t even know that they are coming, so they will be a nice surprise when they arrive. Almost all the decorations are out and though we’ve wrapped a lot of presents, many still need wrapping (or bags).  I have handmade projects that will have to get done after Christmas, and that’s okay.

Today, I really want to take the time to be an encouragement and a help so you might have great peace as you go into Christmas. Even though all is not done here, we are also feeling peace in the joy of the Christmas season.

If you want some tangible ideas to make sure you are prepared for Christmas, go to last week’s post: Going Gently into Christmas – Two Weeks.

This post today, is to assure you that you can have a wonderful Christmas without every little thing being done.

HERE ARE SOME WONDERFUL QUOTES THAT I HOPE WILL ENCOURAGE YOU

*  “Christmas doesn’t need to look like a matching pajama ad, or a scene from a Christmas movie. If you’re going to make it look like anything, let it look like love.” <3 (@BlueJeanLady)

*  “HOLIDAY REMINDER: You are not obligated to continue Holiday Traditions that leave you Broke, Overwhelmed or Tired.” (Crafty Mornings)

* “And when the “overwhelm” begins to seep in. May the peace of God creep in. For He is mighty to overcome even the things that come to overwhelm us.” (@imnatashasmith)

*   “It’s okay if you don’t take Christmas pics in matching pajamas or spend hundreds in endless activities during December, you’re still a great Mom.” (@surrounded.by.boys)

*  “Take inventory of the gifts God has given you, not only the material things but the spiritual things, and ask Him to show you how to share them with others.” (Elisabeth Elliot)

This older newspaper clipping is an encouragement for all of us at this time of year.

Most of all, remember that “the first Christmas was pretty simple. It’s okay if yours is too.”

Have a wonderful Christmas remembering this is what it is all about – “And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.” 1 John4:14

Wishing you a most relaxing and wonderful God honoring time this year.

    Thank you Mrs. Marjie.
This week has already changed up how Christmas will be at my home, but I’m hanging in there. If I do not bake a lot of sweets it’s ok. My Christmas dinner is going to be really simple. Christmas day will be just my hubby and I this year. I’m sad about it, but happy to see my children starting their own traditions with their families for Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
