WRITTEN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
OCTOBER 18, 2014
You said your vows,
and you, like me,
left your previous identity
and became Mrs. Briggs.
Welcome to the family sweet girl.
I’ve been praying for you for a very long time.
When our baby Joshua was born,
I didn’t know who you were,
or if you had even been born yet,
but I prayed for you.
Whenever I thought of the day that he would marry you,
I prayed for you.
I prayed that, as a little girl, you would know Jesus.
That you would recognize your need
and would ask HIM to be your Saviour from all your sins,
and that you would have a walk with HIM.
I prayed that you might know Josh as a friend first,
way before you became his girlfriend.
I prayed that when the time came that he KNEW you were the one,
that you would love him no matter what,
and that he would love you like Christ loves the church.
I also asked the LORD to have you love him for his funny crazy ways
and not just tolerate them.
I prayed that you would want children,
and that you would want to be a mom that put her family first before a job or career.
I also prayed that I might be the kind of Mother-in-Love
that would be involved in your life in such a way
as to benefit you and your man,
but to never get in the way.
