Turkey Cookie

Several years ago a friend shared this clever little cookie and candy turkey Gobbler  from 7th House on the Left , which was SO very cute, that we were immediately intrigued.

Turkey Cookie Table

None of the ingredients are particularly healthy, but it looked so fun, that we bought up the ingredients – with the help of a few friends – and put a bunch together at our church’s monthly ladies Bible study and fellowship time.  Our family (actually our daughter, “Boo”) made enough to put one at every place setting for our Thanksgiving table.  It was such a fun idea, and so cute.

The directions on the site are excellent and go together well, my only suggestions would be to make sure you get mini m&ms, little jelly bellies and flat chocolate cookies for the base and back. The white icing in the tube works pretty good to use as “glue”  for the base and “feathers,” but dries slowly.  Lay the turkey on its back, so it can stay steady as it dries overnight – and definitely before trying to transport.

They are! By the time they set up and were nice and firm, the frosting and jelly beans made them kind of hard to eat, but the cookies were still yummy.
